1. Introduction

Welcome to Real Care Deal. This website serves as an ethical framework and communication bridge for the social care and health community in Norfolk.

We are committed to data privacy and transparency. Our website is designed to be a “pass-through” service: we do not store your messages or personal details on our website’s servers.

2. Who We Are

This website is a partnership project involving Norfolk County Council, the Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board, and Curators of Change.

For the purposes of data protection laws, the Data Controller for any personal information you submit via this website is Norfolk County Council.

3. Information We Collect & How We Handle It

A. Contact Forms & Pledges

When you use our “Contact Us,” “Make a Pledge,” or “Feedback” forms, we collect the information you enter (such as your name, email, and message).

How we handle this data:

  • Direct Transfer: We use WPForms with a strict “No Storage” setting. This means your message is immediately converted into an email and sent securely to Curators Of Change Web Admin who then send to Norfolk County Council.
  • Retention: A copy of your submission is not saved in our website’s database. Once the email is sent, the data is removed from our web server but will still be retained in the Real Care Deal mail server.

B. Automated Information (Cookies & Statistics)

We use limited technologies to ensure the website works correctly and is accessible to everyone.

  • Essential Cookies: These are necessary for the website to function (e.g., remembering your cookie consent preferences).
  • Recite Me (Accessibility): We use Recite Me to provide text-to-speech and other accessibility tools. Recite Me uses cookies to remember your settings (like font size or colour contrast) during your visit.
  • Site Statistics (Jetpack): We use Jetpack to see anonymous data about website traffic (e.g., “50 people visited today”). This helps us understand if our content is reaching the community.
Note: Jetpack may temporarily process your IP address to generate these statistics, but this data is aggregated and not visible to us as individual personal data.
  • Spam Protection (Google reCAPTCHA): To protect our forms from spam and automated bots, we use Google reCAPTCHA. This service checks if you are a human and may analyse your behaviour on the page.

4. How We Use Your Information

Since we do not hold your data on this website, the information forwarded to Norfolk County Council is used solely to:

  • Respond to your enquiries, feedback, or pledges.
  • Administer the “Real Care Deal” ethical framework.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Your information is shared only with:

  • Norfolk County Council: The primary recipient of all form submissions.
  •
  • Service Providers: Technical partners who help the website run:
    • WPForms: For form functionality.
    • Google / Automattic (Jetpack): For security and site performance.

6. Your Rights

Under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, you have rights regarding your personal data held by Norfolk County Council, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your information.

Because this website does not store your data, you must contact Norfolk County Council directly to exercise these rights.
